Dear Edgewood Families:
Our action plans for the 2013-2014 school year have been updated and will continue to include after school programs for reading and math for grades 3-6. Under the direction of our Math/Science Data Coordinator, we will be using data to facilitate differentiated instruction in the area of math. In the fall, we will continue with our Project NECAP /PARCC Power Club to prepare students for the NECAP assessment, as well as, the new PARCC assessment
In the area of curriculum, our teachers will be taking 2 workshops this summer. The first will address proper use of the IPAD with students. The IPADS will be used to allow individual support as needed for each student. The second workshop will address transitioning to the new common core standards.
Our list serv for parents was very successful. We hope more parents will join this year. Throughout the year, our family involvement committee will be looking for support and volunteers to help us provide the best educational experiences for our children and their families. Please contact Robin Gervais at the Cranston Family Center 270-8495 to become more involved, we need your input.
