Happy New Year to our Edgewood students and their families. We will be sending the results of the PARCC assessment home with the children on Monday, January 11, 2016. Please read the enclosed letters and also review your child's progress. This year represents a baseline. The assessment will help our teachers to know exactly where we need to focus to improve students performance.

Sound proof panels have been installed in our multi purpose. Our PTO received a grant and the district also added funding for this project. This should help immensely with the noise level during lunch and for our PE classes and assemblies.

Dear Edgewood Families:

Our action plans for the 2015-2106 school year have been updated and will continue to include after school programs for reading, writing, math and sciences for grades 3-6. Under the direction of our Math/Science Data Coordinator, we will continue to use data to facilitate differentiated instruction in the area of math. School wide, we are prioritizing writing in our classes. Our reading consultants will be conducting professional development with our teachers that will focus on writing.

Our list serv for parents was very successful. We hope more parents will join this year. Throughout the year, our family involvement committee will be looking for support and volunteers to help us provide the best educational experiences for our children and their families. Please contact Robin Gervais at the Cranston Family Center 270-8495 to become more involved, we need your input.
